Hi Mike
We don't have much time for updating country lists that do not follow IOC or eBird/Clements these days. Those that are updated are generally updated by other BUBO Listers, for which we are very grateful. If you or anyone else would like to work on the UAE list we can set you up with editing rights.

Hi Mike
More than happy to manage/edit the UAE list. I no longer live there but I'm still connected to the recorders.
If you are ok for me to take that on then I'm happy to do it.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike (Barth). Hope all’s well. I’m just updating my UAE list (prepare to be knocked off your top spot!!) and noticed that, after the lesser sandplover split, both Tibetan and Siberian have appeared on the checklist. Only Tibetan has been recorded in the UAE (I’ve double-checked this with Oscar Campbell). All the best, Andrew

Hi Mike, subject to checking a couple of things, I think my list is now up to date. While going through, I noticed that Iberian Grey Shrike is on the checklist. I suspect that this needs to be removed as I very much doubt that that species has ever occurred in the UAE. I suspect this goes back to the days when we all thought we were seeing Southern Grey Shrikes in the UAE, with Great Grey being a major rarity. Then IOC lumped most Southern Grey races into Great Grey except for Iberian grey shrike. So I suspect that Southern grey has had its name changed to Iberian grey when it should have been deleted. All the best, Andrew

Well spotted Andrew. It's not a list I visit much anymore these days. Shrike now removed.
