having not seen either previously it is tricky making a call on relative eye size...whether this is just a subterranean form of macrophthalma or not ...habitat is certainly correct= subterranean traps in Lasius fuliginosus nests in Richmond area of Surrey. Have 8 females which seem to all have small eyes as well...help please!
