Are you sure you are not looking for Tremella foliacea [syn. Tremella frondosa] which grows on broadleaf trees and conifers?

T.foliacea is exclusively found on conifers. T.frondosa is found on broadleaf trees. I believe that the split is relatively recent. Tremella frondosa Fr. is listed on UKSI, along with its synonym. There are only three records on NBN, so guess that historic records may need to be re-assessed.

OK, I've added frondosa. Note that both frondosa and foliacea are now in the genus Phaeotremella. Thanks for pointing this one out
