Species lists for Sites

Species lists for Sites was created by Stuart Warrington
The old website had a section for collated species lists for Sites with totals per taxon group, and a grand total. The sites were a mixture of different habitats, geographic locations, sizes and so on, but I feel it was useful and interesting information.
Might it be possible to create this feature in this website?
Once lists are created, anyone could check if their records for a site are included, or if they have found a new species.
Might this be useful?

Hi Stuart
This would undoubtedly be useful and is an area we're keen to develop. It is actually possible currently in a couple of ways.
Rather than using your individual account, you can create a group account . Any lists created for a group account are excluded from the rankings by default, but can be shown by clicking on the blue groups icon. This was the approach we used for the Global Birdfair using an overall Pan-species Listing account. We can either create a location list for you under this account (we've started one as an example ), or you can create your own group account, e.g. Wicken Fen Recording Group, and create the list there. If you have a large list already in Excel or similar you can emailThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we'll upload it to save time entering it from scratch.
The other option is purely to view a combined list for a location, which automatically compiles an overall list from all the listers who have created lists for that location. Clearly that requires time to get going, and it is helpful to start off with an overall group list anyway.
We did this for the Birdfair so that individual listers could all create their own lists and we'd use an overall combined list . In the end we didn't go far with this and instead concentrated on just the group list, but you can see how it works. There are four lists for the Birdfair , three being individuals and one being a group list . (The overall total is the same as no individual lister recorded anything that wasn't on the group list.)
I expect you have a Wicken Fen list in Excel so the easiest thing to do would be to emailThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we (please Andy!) will upload it to the PSL group account.
I'm sure there are nice ways we could develop this feature, but it will be good to get a big list on to start with and see!

I've created several site-specific lists for reserves that I frequently visit.
I'm the only PSL lister so far for the reserves I've done, but maybe in the future more people will add theirs - it works well on some of the more popular reserves on Bubo (as then you can see targets/blockers etc).

Hi Mike et al
Would be a great addition to Bubo. Feel free to use Dawlish Warren as a 'big list' to test this feature out! I have a list in excel just let me know what you need.
Thanks
Kev
