We've just launched taxa subgroups to allow you to filter lists and view targets etc. by these lower level taxonomic groupings, e.g. spiders and not just arachnids, orchids as well as vascular plants. Read more about
how taxa subgroups are used
.
The groups and subgroups currently implemented are:
We can add new subgroups if there are obvious ones worth including: let us know in this discussion. Note that we can't (without a lot of effort!) do "sub subgroups" though, e.g. Bees which would be a subgroup of the existing subgroup Aculeates.

Fabulous! Though I notice that if you click on Sedges, there are a lot of Geraniums listed..?

Can we have some more bug groups? Maybe one for all the hoppers, and then maybe the Mirids as a nice big group, or alternatively, two big pots of terrestrial and aquatic Heteroptera, although those wouldn't sit well with the existing Shieldbug group.

New bug subgroups now added! For the time being I've split the Hemipteroids into
- Shieldbugs (includes 'squashbugs')
- Other terrestrial Heteropteran bugs (including Saldidae)
- Aquatic bugs
- Auchenorrhyncha (hoppers)
- Sternorrhyncha (aphids and allies)
- Psocids (barkflies)
- Thrips
- Lice

Hiya chaps,
I've just noticed a glitch. If I pull up my Britain, Ireland, Isle of Man & Channel Islands List and then filter it to show only 'Grasses' I get all of the grasses I've listed, plus Sikkim Spurge, Twiggy Spurge, Tall Tutsan and Des Etangs' St John's-wort. The rest of the Vascular Plant categories are all fine.
Cheers fellas
